34067 Tangmere approaches Preston on its second test circuit of the week.307 viewsDuring the first run, an injector problem was found, which led to the postponement of the planned move to Southall. Instead of that run, a second test took place, but it seems that a leaking cylinder might be to blame for the loco remaining in Carnforth ovre the weekend.

The concrete base (just in front of the train shed roof support) for the relay room added as part of the signalling improvements in the 1950's, when colour light signals replaced worn out equipment. Preston No.3 signal box was just the other side of the roof support (where the overhead stantion is locationed) and controlled the new colour lights on the old platforms 6 and 7 (now 4 and 5).
