An evening Crossens - Southport train, formed of an ex-LMS 1500V DC EMU including vehicles M29868M and M28361M, reverses at Meols Cop Station. This picture was taken in the growing gloom of the final day of electric services and the mourners are already gathering. It was, in fact, this same unit that actually worked the final through train to Crossens, the service passing into history with the departure of the 22-55 from Chapel Street.
